Recently WhatsApp had 1-billion users registering the app. It has now become one of the fastest and smartest mode of communication in many countries ranging from internet calls to chats and video calls. The more the features it is having, the better it is becoming since past few months making it the most popular app in android’s google play, apple’s App store and Microsoft phone’s Store. Let’s check out some of the latest changes in WhatsApp:
    • Sharing of documents: One of the new update of WhatsApp is document sharing which is a new feature in the app where any documents of any format can be shared. Earlier this feature allowed users to share only PDF files, but now files of any format can be send such as .doc, .xls, .docx or any other file formats. The first thing you need to do if you cannot find the recent feature in your app is you need to update it. Once update is done, users can see the attachment icon on the top right of the screen in a chat window. In order to share file, the user need to tap the icon and select the 'Document' option. This will open a list of PDF files stored in your system, but the navigation will not allow you to open specific folders.
    • iCloud Integration: The biggest feature of this new version is the integration of iCloud Drive, Google Drive, Drop Box, OneDrive etc. to transfer files to other contacts. As a result, users can send photos, documents and videos directly from cloud storage without the need of downloading it in the device. Earlier, other file format stored in the cloud such as PDF documents or Excel sheets or Word documents or any power point presentation could not be send but now this feature has been added. User can send any file format to their contacts from cloud storage via WhatsApp. This is only available for iOS users.
    • Group member limit: Remember WhatsApp started the use of groups. User can make their own groups by addition of group members. Earlier a total of around 100 members could be added in a particular. Now the limit had been increased to 256. It is applicable to both, android and iOS.
    • Shared links: Whenever you have a WhatsApp conversation with someone a media screen is created that have all the contents which was shared between you both such as videos, documents, links and images, which have been sent and received by a user.  The new update gives users a chance to keep a check at the history tab of shared links that contains all the links shared and received by the user. This is arranged in a reverse chronological order. The link in the tab shows the media at the top and messages at the bottom.
    • If you tap the preview in the upper part of the screen it will open the link in the browser, and tapping it at the bottom leads the user to the message that he/she can share or delete directly from here.
    • Pinch to zoom: This update is only for iOS users. Users can 'pinch to zoom' on videos, while it is playing in WhatsApp. This will zoom the video. This feature is not available in other android or windows phone.
    • Beta version: Recently a beta tester programmer has been launched by WhatsApp. If you are assigned there as a tester or you join over there, you will soon receive an update that includes a testing version of the WhatsApp Messenger app. But as usual the beta versions are not for all users as it is unstable and the features contains too many bugs. The beta version is only available for android.
    • Starred messages: The new version gives you a feature regarding deleting of your chats. Android users have the option to delete messages older than 30 days or over 6 months. Sometimes they can be deleted by mistakes too. But you cannot save all of them. The updated version gives you the option where users can keep starred messages while clears all the chats. This version is so far available in beta mode.
